The Deepest Encore Ever

If you are an evening visitor to the bookshop, you may have come upon members of Collaboration Town (and the Drama Book Shop's own Jesica Avellone) meeting in the mezzanine "lounge." I've not met a more dedicated (or charming) group of young thespians. Well, it seems their many hours of hard work and 'collaboration' are receiveing some recognition. It is with great delight that we pass on the following:

From fringenyc-encores.com: "In 16 days even the most intrepid theatergoer can only sample a small fraction of the 200 plus offerings at the annual New York International Fringe Festival.

Now theatre lovers can get a second chance at seeing some of the Festival's favorite shows at the FringeNYC Encore Series!"

The Deepest Play Ever: The Catharsis of Pathos Writer: Geoffrey Decas, Music and additional lyrics by Michael Wells/ Director: Ryan Purcell / Choreographer: Boo Killebrew.

An unrivaled masterpiece of post-post-apocalyptic genius. Antiheroine, Mother LaMadre, bulldozes her wagon through the Fifth World War and navigates all the pitfalls of self-important Epic Theatre: puppets, singing, dancing, zombie battles, and actors trying to out-Brecht each other. Move over Meryl! Winner: Outstanding Playwrighting. Sept 9 at 4pm and 930pm, Sept 11 at 8:30pm, Sept 17 at 930pm. 14th Street Y.
